The article is devoted to Home, Work And Your Affiliate Business – Keeping Things Balanced. How many days have you had where you come home from work, ready to write an article or do some updates to your website and it just doesn’t happen? Or how about those days from the time that alarm goes off till you get home, everything that could go wrong actually did? Its one of those days where you don’t even want to turn on your computer?
Well don’t feel like the Lone Ranger, because it’s happened to all of us. Juggling home and family life with your job, you already sort of know how to keep things fairly balanced. But when you add a business that you’re trying to build to the equation, things can start to get stressful real fast.
For those of us whose kids have grown up and moved on it’s not too tough. But for the young married couples with children, It can be real hard. If both the wife and husband have a job the first thing when you both get in that evening is your kids are fighting for your attention.
Then there’s dinner to prepare, kids need to be bathed and in bed, and then you need to find time with your other half, and then you might find time to work on your internet business if you’re not too tired. Does that sound familiar?
Think about this a minute. How many hours in a day do you actually have for yourself?
The first thing to figure out is how many hours do you spend at work? 8, 9, 10, 12 hours a day? That’s the beginning. The less hours you spend at work, naturally, the better your chances of having some free time for you. The more hours you spend at work, the less free time you have.
So the time you spend at your job is the key factor in trying to balance out the rest of your day. And it’s not just the time at work either. You have to figure in your travel time to and from work also. So family time and your own free time has to be balanced around the time you spend at work.
So how can you balance work, family and an affiliate business?
Your family should come before any business venture you take. Some people may disagree, but when you spend all day at work and then come home and jump right on the computer, your family may feel left out of your life. Especially really young children who are always craving attention.
Spend good quality time with your family when you get home from work and then settle in and start working business. They’ll be more understanding when it’s time for Mommy or Daddy to get to work.
Figure how many hours you plan on working your business each evening. Don’t count time spent in the forums. Only time actually spent writing articles or doing updated improvements for your website.
Accept the fact you may have to lose some sleep to get things done. I know it’s hard losing that extra wink, but you have get it done one way or the other. Split your time between evening and morning. Do some work at night and finish whatever you were doing the next morning.
Don’t let your affiliate business stress you out.
If you feel like you can’t work on your website everyday then don’t. Spend every other day or so. It’s not a race. I’m one of those that work on my website 3 or 4 days out of the week. It just feels more productive that way to me.
And if you feel this could be the way that’s best for balancing things out, by all means try it. Nothing’s going to disappear if you take every other day off. Besides it’s much better to have a website with quality content than one with quantity and no quality.
