Social networking can drive traffic

If you haven’t already, join Facebook, Twitter, Stumble Upon, and other social networking sites.  With these sites you have the opportunity to market (subtly) directly to those who share your interests.

Create an interesting profile and tell people not only about yourself, but mention your business as well.  Link to your site from these profiles, and join groups that share your interests, especially on Facebook.  By “friending” as many people as possible, you can increase the traffic going to your site.

For getting traffic to your website, content is still king

Content drives the Internet, so the more you have out there the more traffic you can expect.  Send traffic by writing lots of articles and submitting to Ezine articles and other top directories.  Write a few press releases.  Blog.  Add keyword-rich content to your site on a regular basis.  Just get lots of quality content out there linking to your site!

If you have the money, you may want to try paid methods for driving traffic like Google Adsense or even buying advertising on another site related to your niche that ranks high in the search engines.

Google Adsense is great for driving targeted traffic or building a list, if you know how to do it.  Learn how it works before you use Adsense, or it could burn a hole in your pocket!  With the right keywords and bid, you can drive massive traffic with paid advertising.
